TalaTala is a small Swedish learning app that is still in testing. This page says plainly what we store about you and what we do with it.
What we store
- Your account: the name, e-mail address and profile picture from the Google or GitHub account you sign in with, plus a session so you stay signed in.
- Your level: the Swedish level we estimate or you tell us, and the level used for example sentences.
- Your gloss language: the language you want translations shown in.
- Learning events: which words and sentences you saw, and how you answered (knew it, again, correct, wrong), with times, so we can schedule reviews.
- Play events: which audio you play and replay, so we can tell what is worth making more of.
- Reports and feedback: anything you send us, including the page you were on and the card or sentence you flagged.
- Basic technical records such as the time of sign-in and your browser type, kept to keep the service secure.
Recordings stay on your device
If you record yourself speaking, the recording is handled on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Session recordings
Whether you are signed in or trying the app without an account, we record how you use it (what is on screen, where you tap and scroll) so we can watch a session back and fix what confuses people. Everything you type is masked and never recorded. Recordings are stored on our own storage, not sent to an analytics company, are only seen by us, and are deleted after 30 days. You can turn recording off at any time in Settings.
Model providers
Lessons and sentences are written and checked by AI models before you see them. None of the data listed above is sent to those model providers. They never see your account, level, answers or listening.
Who sees it
The people running TalaTala can see your data to fix problems and improve the app. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use advertising trackers.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you or delete your account and everything attached to it by writing to the person who invited you or sending feedback inside the app. Deleting your account removes your learning history and reports.
Changes
While the app is in testing this page may change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
